A lot of essays have been done. Finished English composition II, only thing is the final exam next week. For Design process I am working on my final boards. I've already finished my 3D object and almost done with my Shirt that I've been costumized. Because of my illness earlier and which I am still recovering from, I still got 5 more weeks to finish my toil and final skirt for my other course.

 

Been to the doctors this morning and got some prescription for my meds.
One thing I've heard which is really good for females. You get free pills! In sweden you have to pay for it.

I am guessing they hand it out for free because of the high rate of teenage pregnancies here in the UK...

 

Anyways. I'll keep working! I might upload some of my work for you later on. :)

Almost a year have passed by sense I started studying fashion design at the University. There are days when you got doubts about everything, however I do not regret. There are very interesting people at this school with blind eyes about the reality. I could not help myself from feeling disgust about their thoughts about others without even knowing them. For instinct they can not believe someone who is going to this university lives on fanancial support and almost full time job to be able to study and live here in London. They were surprised when I opened my mouth and told 10 pounds is a weeks meal for me. For them, it was just one single meal for a day.

 

My worries for next month with no money for food is getting closer. Because of the cut down hours from work my next payment will only cover for rent and transport. Mostly. Hopefully there will be some money from my savings. Most of my money this month went to a new pair of glasses as the other one broke. And lots of medicine as I became ill from stress and depression. and that caused a horrible eczema on my hands and face...

 

"No worries" someone said, "your rich parents will help you". Those words made me irritated.
They do not know anything about me and my background. Of course there is a lot of rich and spoiled brats at my university so I am guessing they asume everyone got money in their pockets.

 

The eczema is getting better, and I am trying not to get stressed out about anything.
Hopefully I'll get more hours at work as soon as the summer season is kicking in.

A cool pub, which is very crowded in the weekends. No wonder why. It can be quite loud at times. If you want to get some "fresh" air they have a backyard.. where most people attend to smoke there.

I really like this place. really cool atmosphare, playing good music. A place where you can chill, play some billiard, dance in the basement and such. The hamburgers there is quite good as well. On the weekends people attend to stand in line to get in. Gigs in the weekend as well.

This place is cool. When you walk in it looks like a normal bar. However, there is a huge wardrobe which leads you to the VIP. Really nice place to take a couple of drinks with your mates or maybe with a date. On Saturdays it's 21+, not sure if its like that everyday. And do dress up a bit and not go there after a long shopping day, haha.

Nice place, I've been there a few times. Play loud music at times and of course it gets packed. All the pubs and bars in Shoreditch do get packed in the weekends. But it's def worth it. Here they offer a cocktail which they serve in a big fish bowl! I've heard the Mohjito here is really amazing!

 

 

Hej bloggen!  Efter 7 månaders uppehåll med tränandet tog jag upp det idag. Vaknade upp klockan 8. Hade min frukost och sedan for jag utanför dörren klockan 9. Jag lät mina lungor andas in den fina avgasen från innerstaden av östra delen av London. Sprang runt i cirklar och intill lite mindre trevliga områden. Efter en timme så kände jag att det räckte för denna dagen. Imorgon efter jobbet blir det en till spring tur mår jag tro.

 

 

Jag, Christine och hennes pojkvän for till the vintage fair som befinner sig några gator bort från där jag bor.. som ligger i Shoreditch. Jag lyckades köpa några fina och gamla saker. Bla en barnbok från 1970 talet.

Hi Blog. After 7 months of non exercise at all I manage to bring it to the table today. I woke up at 8. I had my breakfast and then I went out the door at 9. I let my lungs breath in the lovely gas pollution from the inner city from the east side of London. I ran around in cirkles and then went to not so nice neighbourhoods. After an hour I thought it was enough for today. Tomorrow after work I'll probably do the same thing again.

 

Me and Christine and her boyfriend went to a vintage fair thats located not to far away from my home (it's in Shoreditch). I manage to buy a few old things from there. For example an old childrens book from the 1970's!

As many probably already know, living in London is very expensive, compared to live in Sweden.

When it comes to the accomendation it depends on which zone and area. To rent a single room can cost between 360 - 700 pounds a month.

 

The food itself is expensive as well, epsecially meat and seafood. Other things like dairy products, bread and such things like that is more then lass inexpensive. Noodles is even more cheaper than in Sweden when it can go down to 12pence per package.

 

Transport, it will get cheaper if you get yourself a student oyster card and top it up once per month. Then you can travel as much as you like within that month. Monthly payment within zone 1-2 cost about 82 pounds.

 

When it comes to finding an extra job, I got this question by a swedish girl and what I can say is it's not that difficult to get an extra job. you just have to be openminded. Swedish people have a good reputation for working hard, so it's not an issue. Just get yourself an english CV, and apply for a national insurence number (as most jobs require this). You work many hours for a very low salary, and on weekends and bank holidays you won't get double paid as you would do in Sweden, so that's something you should keep in mind.  

 

Nightlife. Depending what you are looking for everything is possible here in London. Here is loads of different pubs, nightclubs and bars in different styles depending on your mood. If you want to go in to a nightclub in central London the dresscode is very strict. As they are quite "posh". A cocktail on those kinds of places can cost about 16 pounds. The best would be if you would like to go to those kinds of night clubs like in Picadilly and Mayfair I suggest you get in there together with a promoter. Then you get free entrance and free welcome drinks (vodka with orange juice).

I find the music there is crap so by my own opinion I rather go to a bar in Camden or Shoreditch where they play rock music :) 

 

Of course a lot of things cost here, but there are things that's for free such as museums, galleries, stand up comedy and some gigs on a local pub. Have a look at: TimeOut London, they will give updates about different events that's going on. Hope it helped.

Hi everyone. My days goes by so quickly! I spend about 32 hours a week at work and then full time at uni. Somedays I am so tired that I do not have any energy for nothing at all. Thank goodness uni is not running today because of easter. But I am in for work today from 16 - 23.  Which will be good.

 

Also, I've started to do some savings as well. I've been thinking about a lot of things that I want to do for a couple of weeks next year and I came up with to take care of Pandas in China. As far as I know I need to save up around 3000 pounds, which is a lot. So this will basically be for 3 weeks, sometime in June when I do not have uni and possibly be able to take some days off from work :)

 

I am excited!!

Hello sunshine! A lot of things are going on here in London. Me and the other students recently got the news that put many of us in fear and anger. They've sold our school to Regents College. We are not sure what is going to happen. Higher fees? Is it possible for us to take loan threw them? I've heard so many things that our fees will go up from 9.000 pounds a year to 14.000 pounds a year, also that Regents College do not except fanancial support through the governament. Therefore, I, as a student have to threw out 14K a year from my own pockets. If that's the case I can no longer continue my studies at AIU. I am angry, have I spent 9.000 pounds for nothing?  I've also heard I can no longer get an American degree and a British Degree. I now have to choose which one I want to get.

Many students parents are flying in from different parts of the world to join the meeting with Regents College today. Me as many others, will be there today. Hopefully we will get facts about what is going to happen to us.

Good day. Woke up for about an hour ago. I've been laying in bed and I'll continue doing so because later today I'll be doing a night shift and won't be home until 8am the next day. So I'll lay in bed, watch family guy and do some work in my sketchbook. lazy and productive day at the same time. SCORE!

 

An addition to that, I had a look around my room and discovered that it needs a tidy up.
